Attention to the “fit” of a project in the landscape, or within a building,  and understanding what physical changes do to shape the human and ecological events over time is the sensitivity our office will bring to your project.

 

Boardman Design has enjoyed a variety of project types and scales working creatively with our clients. The range extends from restoration of estate gardens to creating  gardens from “scratch”;  Master Plans for large properties and farms; renovation of structures in need of modernization or to be “put to rights” for improved livability; kitchen and bath renovations; home offices; and aging in place modifications. Our office strives to hear our clients and create better environments for life to unfold.

 

Background

 

Barbara grew up in a small coastal New England town absorbing how a built environment can “fit” to its environment.  Graduate work that  incorporated both Landscape Architecture and Architecture further enriched this sensibility.  After completion of a Fulbrite Scholarship in which she spent two years in Central America she returned to the Boston area to open Boardman Design.  Built projects are located throughout the Northeast, as well as Palm Beach, FL and Chicago, IL.
